Description

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring skilled Connecticut Licensed Sheet Metal Journeyman for projects located in or around New London County, CT. This is a first shift opportunity and the pay rate is up to $47/hour based on experience and skill level.  If you are a Sheet Metal Technician and want to work alongside other proven craftsmen who emphasize safety, productivity and superior craftsmanship, this is your chance to advance your career! 

 

Job Scope:         

  • Fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal ductwork and HVAC components
  • Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and project specifications
  • Measure, cut, bend, shape, and fasten sheet metal using appropriate tools and equipment
  • Install ductwork, fittings, dampers, hangers, supports, and related HVAC components
  • Seal ductwork joints and connections to meet project specifications
  • Coordinate with HVAC technicians, plumbers, electricians, general contractors, and other trades
  • Inspect installations for proper alignment, fit, quality, and code compliance
  • Follow OSHA requirements, site safety rules, and proper PPE procedures
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized work area
  • Meet project deadlines while maintaining quality workmanship

Requirements:

  • Current Connecticut SM1 or SM2 Sheet Metal License
  • Journeyman-level sheet metal experience in commercial construction or HVAC installation
  • Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and mechanical drawings
  • Proficiency with sheet metal hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
  • Knowledge of ductwork installation, layout, fittings, and HVAC systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a construction crew
  • Reliable transportation and ability to report to assigned job sites
  • Ability to lift materials, work from ladders or lifts, and perform physically demanding construction tasks
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and attendance
