Description

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Journeyman Millwrights for projects located in the Noti, OR area. This is a first shift opportunity, and the pay rate is $35-40/hour based on experience and skill level. Job Scope:        

  • Troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, and maintain industrial sawmill equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime
  • Repair and replace bearings, shafts, gears, sprockets, chains, belts, pulleys, couplings, pumps, and gearboxes
  • Maintain conveyors, log-handling systems, debarkers, chippers, saws, edgers, trimmers, planers, and lumber-handling equipment
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Perform precision equipment alignment and installation
  • Complete welding, fabrication, cutting, and mechanical repairs as needed
  • Perform rigging and equipment movement using cranes, hoists, forklifts, and other lifting equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and respond to equipment breakdowns
  • Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, shutdowns, and major maintenance projects
  • Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals
  • Work closely with production personnel to identify and resolve equipment issues
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate needed repairs
  • Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to safety, equipment reliability, and production efficiency

Requirements

  • Journeyman-level millwright experience required
  • Previous sawmill, lumber mill, manufacturing plant, or similar industrial experience preferred
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
  • Experience with conveyors, bearings, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems
  • Welding and fabrication experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of preventative maintenance practices
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals
  • Ability to safely use industrial tools and equipment
  • Experience with rigging and equipment installation preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe, quality work
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in a dusty and noisy industrial environment
  • Valid driver’s license
