Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Field Technicians for projects located in or around Hillsboro, OR.  This is a first shift opportunity and the pay rate is up to $55/hour based on experience and skill level.  If you are an Electrician and want to work alongside other proven craftsmen who emphasize safety, productivity and superior craftsmanship, this is your chance to advance your career! 

 

Job Scope:    

  • Perform start-up, commissioning, and functional testing of newly installed facility systems and equipment
  • Verify equipment and systems meet project specifications, drawings, and performance requirements
  • Read and interpret P&IDs, construction drawings, specifications, schematics, and system documentation
  • Identify field discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions with engineering, construction, and contractor teams
  • Serve as a technical interface between trade disciplines, engineers, contractors, and project leadership
  • Resolve technical construction questions and system issues in the field
  • Support quality testing, inspection, commissioning documentation, and turnover activities
  • Coordinate work within active construction environments
  • Understand construction sequencing, tool sequencing, and pre facilitation schedules
  • Track field labor hours and assist with assessing project progress and earned value
  • Ensure testing and commissioning activities comply with applicable local and national codes, project requirements, and industry standards
  • Maintain accurate testing and commissioning documentation

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in start-up, commissioning, or high-tech construction environments
  • Journeyman-level experience in one or more of the following disciplines:
    • Electrical
    • Mechanical
    • Process/Piping
    • Life Safety Systems (LSS)
    • Instrumentation & Controls (I&C)
  • Strong understanding of P&IDs, specifications, construction drawings, and technical documentation
  • Ability to identify field discrepancies and coordinate solutions with project teams
  • Strong knowledge of applicable local and national codes
  • Thorough understanding of construction drawings, symbols, and industry standards
  • Ability to understand construction sequencing and micro-schedules
  • Ability to track field hours, project progress, and earned value
  • Strong verbal, written, and electronic communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, contractors, technicians, and other trades
