Flat Laser Operator

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Flat Laser Operators for projects located in or around Salt Lake, UT. This is a first shift opportunity and the pay rate is $25-$30/hour based on experience and skill level. Job Scope:     

• Set up and operate a flat laser cutting machine used to process steel
• Cut various steel thicknesses according to production requirements
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, work orders, and specifications
• Verify machine setup and material prior to production
• Monitor cutting quality and make appropriate adjustments when necessary
• Inspect completed parts to ensure they meet quality expectations
• Perform routine machine inspections and basic preventative maintenance
• Identify worn components, consumables, or equipment concerns before they create production issues
• Maintain accurate production and equipment documentation
• Minimize scrap and material waste
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Assist with training and developing less-experienced laser operators
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, maintenance personnel, and other production employees

• 2+ years of recent experience operating a flat laser with steel
  Experience cutting multiple steel thicknesses
• Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings and blueprints
• Ability to independently set up and operate a flat laser with minimal training
• Understanding of basic machine troubleshooting and preventative maintenance
• Strong attention to cut quality, measurements, and finished-product specifications
• Ability and willingness to train newer operators
• Reliable attendance and ability to consistently work the scheduled night shift
• Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality, and productivity
