Equipment Operator

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Equipment Operators for projects located in the Silver Springs, NV area. This is a first shift opportunity, and the pay rate is $32-35/hour based on experience and skill level. Job Scope:         

• Use equipment such as mini-excavators, trenchers, plows, and reel trailers
• Perform duties of installation, operation, repair, and maintenance of Telecommunications outside plant including fiber, copper and coax
• Review blueprints or other plans to determine where and how to place plants
• Analyze job locations for utility lines, permitting, and traffic control to complete construction activities without quality defects, safety incidents or any type of property damage
• Read and understand utility locations and above ground indicators to ensure the safety of the crew and a high level of productivity
• Complete daily inspections and reporting of maintenance issues on vehicles, trailers, and equipment
• Perform service, safety checks, check oil and fluids, and minor repairs on equipment
• Perform construction work such as digging holes, setting handholes/peds and placing duct to pole
• Strive for optimal production while working safely and performing quality work
• Ensures all work is performed to quality standard while always complying with proper safety standards/procedures and work practices/policies & procedures according to EPC and OSHA/ANSI standards
• Maintain quality and cleanliness of tools, equipment, and vehicles

• 5+ years of heavy equipment experience
• Valid Class A CDL required
• Prior experience operating relevant heavy equipment in a utilities construction environment around live utilities is required
• OSHA 30 Certification is required
• Green Belt Certification is required
• Heavy Equipment Operator Certification is requiredKnowledge of reading prints
• Ability to operate equipment, including, but not limited to power tools, electronic testing equipment, air compressor and heavy equipment such as bucket truck etc
• Prior experience identifying above or below ground utilities or hazards.
• Must pass a drug screen and background check
