Machine Builder

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Machine Builders for projects located in and around the Grand Rapids, MI area. This is a full time opportunity, with a pay range of up to $35/hour based on experience and skill level. Job Scope:       

• Assemble machines using both machined and purchased components
• Build and wire junction boxes and connect electrical components
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics
• Perform precision measurements and use appropriate measuring tools
• Use basic hand tools and power tools for assembly and fitting

   

• Safely operate shop equipment including:

  • Drill press

  • Small mill

  • Band saw

• Perform light welding and fabrication tasks as needed
• Rig and move heavy components using overhead cranes and forklifts

• 2+ years of machine building experience

• Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical schematics

• Proficient in measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)

• Knowledge of welding and fabrication processes

• Experience with heavy rigging and safe material handling practices

• Ability to safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes

• Basic hand tools
