Sheet Metal Technician

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Journeyman Sheet Metal Technicians for projects located in the Maryville, TN area. This is a first shift opportunity, and the pay rate is up to $35/hour based on experience and skill level.  If you are a Sheet Metal Journeyman and want to work alongside other proven craftsmen who emphasize safety, productivity, and superior craftsmanship, this is your chance to advance your career! 

Job Scope:          

• Read & interpret blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine fabrication, assembly, and installation method
• Choose the correct gauge and type of material (e.g., galvanized iron, copper, steel, aluminum, plastics, or fiberglass) based on project requirements

• Lay out and mark dimensions and reference lines on materials

• Use templates or manual methods to develop and trace patterns for parts and assemblies

• Operate machinery such as shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls, and routers to cut, bend, and shape materials
• Shape metal manually using anvils, blocks, or other forms
• Trim, file, grind, deburr, buff, and smooth surfaces for final finish
• Assemble components by welding, soldering, bolting, riveting, screwing, clipping, caulking, or bonding

• Perform gas welding, brazing, and arc welding processes

• Perform thermal cutting and grinding tasks as needed

• Install assemblies into structural frameworks in accordance with blueprints

• Inspect completed assemblies and installations for compliance with specifications
