HVAC Technician

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced HVAC Technicians for projects located in and around Tacoma, WA. Job Scope:           

• Install, service, and repair heating, air conditioning, and ventilation systems in residential settings
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in HVAC systems
• Perform routine maintenance checks, diagnostics, cleanings, and tune-ups
• Communicate clearly and professionally with homeowners to explain technical issues and recommend solutions
• Complete work orders, documentation, and maintenance records accurately
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, both in the field and in company vehicles
• Stay updated on the latest HVAC technologies and best practices
• Install and connect HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, wiring, thermostats, furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, chillers, boilers, and ventilation units.
• Repair or replace components such as motors, bearings, valves, belts, and sensors; charge systems with refrigerants and verify performance.
• Maintain accurate service records and inventory logs.
• Collaborate with engineers, apprentices, and subcontractors on larger projects and communicate system status, repair options, and maintenance plans with clients or building managers.
• Train end-users, when necessary, on basic system operations.

• Valid HVAC Journeyman License and EPA Section 608 Certification (Type I, II, or Universal).
• HVAC certification or diploma from an accredited trade school (preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in residential HVAC service and installation
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, controls, and safety procedures; ability to read and work from blueprints and technical manuals.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and personal vehicle.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and operate in varying weather conditions.
• High school diploma or equivalent
