Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring skilled Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanics for projects located in and around Red Springs, NC. This is a first shift opportunity with a pay rate of $28-32/hour based on experience & skill level.  If you are a Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic and want to work alongside other proven craftsmen who emphasize safety, productivity and superior craftsmanship, this is your chance to advance your career! 

Job Scope:

• Diagnose, repair, & maintain heavy machinery 
• Perform scheduled maintenance repairs & inspections while ensuring equipment operates efficiently and safely 
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid level checks, & tire rotations
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems
• Identify extent of needed repairs
• Repair or replace defective parts & systems 
• Overhaul & test major components such as engines, hydraulic systems, & electrical systems 
• Provide field service and answer service calls 
• Maintain logs of equipment condition & work performed
• Ensure all work is performed safely
• Consult with customers
• Read work orders & determine work require
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with established district, county, state, & federal regulations
• Other tasks as assigned

Requirements:

• 2+ Years of Experience
• Strong Mechanical Skills 
• Knowledge of Diesel Engines, Hydraulics, Electrical Systems, & other Mechanical Systems
• Ability to read Blueprints & Schematics
• Problem Solving Skills
• Communication Skills
