Description

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Marine Structural Welders for projects located in the Newport News, VA area. This is a first shift opportunity, and the pay rate is up to $45/hour based on experience plus $140/day per diem for travelers 60+ miles from the job site.  Job Scope:         

  • Multipass: All position fillet and butt welds using the following processes: SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) FCAW (Flux Cored Arc Welding) and GMAWP (Pulse Arc Welding)
  • Heating with Oxygen/Propane Heating Torch
  • Air Carbon Arc Gouging
  • Other tasks assigned 

Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a weld test 
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations relative to the shipbuilding industry
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience 
  • Must have NNS or Naval Shipyard experience 
  • Experience working in a physically demanding environment shipboard sub-assemblies ladders staging etc
