Switchgear Operator

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Switchgear Operators for projects located in Chesapeake, VA. This is a first shift opportunity and the pay rate is up to $30/hour based on experience and skill level. Job Scope:     

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems in shop and field
• Low and medium voltage switchgear including disassembly, component inspection/repair, reassembly and testing
• Other related tasks assigned 

• Must have an understanding and knowledge of NETA standards as they pertain to low and medium voltage switch gear
• Must have technical understanding and application of all types of switchgear protective relaying and controls of switchgear including the operation, maintenance. and testing
• Must have hands on experience on low and medium voltage switchgear including disassembly, component inspection/repair, reassembly and testing
• Must have a valid drivers license and clean driving record 
• Must be able to pass medical physical 
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening 
• NETA or NICET level 2 or higher electrical power testing certifications
• Previous experience in power distribution industry
• Good computer skills with basic programs such as Word, Excel and email
• OSHA-10 cert required as well as EPA Universal cert
• Must have standard PPE and basic tools of the trade
