Mechanical Field Service Technician

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring skilled Mechanical Field Service Technicians for projects located in and around Chesapeake, VA. This is a first shift opportunity with a pay rate of up to $25/hour based on experience & skill level.  If you are a Mechanical Field Service Technician and want to work alongside other proven craftsmen who emphasize safety, productivity and superior craftsmanship, this is your chance to advance your career! 

Job Scope:

• Service paper mills, power plants, water treatment plants, etc.
• Removal & re-installation of equipment serviced in shop; electric motors, pumps, gearboxes, etc.
• Utilize basic rigging skills to safely move equipment on and off foundations and transportation means
• Precision alignment of rotating equipment
• Use dial indicator & laser alignment equipment 
• Perform mechanical diagnostics on operational equipment utilizing vibration analysis with along with physical inspection and visual examination
• Work on existing equipment in customer facilities; perform in place repairs and field maintenance 
• Interface with end users/customers to assist in determining the cause of mechanical failures and to help produce proactive solutions to mechanical failures
• Other tasks as assigned

Requirements:

• 2+ Years working in a Mechanical Environment
• Must be familiar with an industrial Safety Environment 
• Knowledge of Rigging Practices 
• High Mechanical Aptitude 
• Clean driving record
• Must pass background check & drug screen
• Must be willing to work on call needed
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
