Shipfitter

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring skilled Shipfitters for projects located in and around Philadelphia, PA. This is job offers multiple shifts with a pay rate of up to $33/hour based on experience & skill level.  If you are a Shipfitter and want to work alongside other proven craftsmen who emphasize safety, productivity and superior craftsmanship, this is your chance to advance your career! 

Job Scope:

• Fabricate, assemble, & install structural components such as bulkheads, frames, & hull sections using various metalworking techniques & equipment
• Measure, cut, & shape parts together using appropriate techniques & equipment
• Install & fit components and systems including piping, ventilations, ducts, & machinery supports in accordance with project plans & specifications
• Perform repairs & modifications to existing ship structures as needed
• Inspect work pieces and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards & regulatory requirements
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment 
• Collaborate with other tradespeople, engineers, & project managers to ensure efficient project execution
• Maintain accurate records of work performed & materials used
• Other tasks as assigned

Requirements:

• 5+ Years of Experience as a Shipfitter or in a similar role; Preferably in a Maritime Shipbuilding Environment
• Proficient in reading & interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, & specifications
• Must pass background check
• Strong welding & metalworking skills; experience with various welding processes; arc welding, MIG & TIG welding, etc. 
• Familiarity with shipbuilding materials, tools, & equipment
• Knowledge of shipbuilding principles & practices
• Attention to detail & precision in workmanship
• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
• Good communication & Interpersonal skills
• Ability to lift heavy objects
