Marine Shipfitter

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Marine Shipfitter for projects located in San Diego, CA. This is an opportunity with multiple shifts available and the pay rate is up to $30/hour based on experience and skill level plus $150/per diem for travelers 60+ miles from the job site. Job Scope:       

• Assemble, cut and grind metal structural parts including; plates, bulkheads, strong backs, turnbuckles and come-along 
• Align parts in relation to each other 
• Tack and weld foundation and structural members 
• Perform layout work according to blueprints or reference lines 
• Mark location of holes to be drilled
• Drive wedges and install temporary fasteners to hold part in place for welding 
• Perform other related tasks assigned 

• Must have OSHA 10, Maritime and Fire Watch Certifications
• Must have respirator fit testing completed and be certified 
• Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check 
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience 
• T1 welding certificate 
• Must pass a vision test 
• Must be able to pass hands on assessment test 
• Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces 
• Must be able to work any and all shifts 
• Must comprehend written and verbal instructions in English
