Description

Machine Operator I

The Machine Operator I is responsible for operating and assisting with preventative maintenance on automated manufacturing equipment used to manufacture and package products for the bakery industry. Minimize production downtime, improve yield, quality, output, assist with retrofits and upgrades to production equipment. Minimize production/packaging downtime and improve yield and quality as well as assist with the retrofits and upgrades of the production/packaging equipment. Assist with the training and development of other machine operators. The Machine Operator will be responsible for equipment tear down and set-ups on a daily basis, ensuring production requirements are meet. Experience with DC voltage 0-30V and AC 0-480V is a plus. Only self-motivated individuals with excellent operator skills should apply.

Requirements

As a Machine Operator I you will work directly under the supervision of a qualified Industrial Maintenance Technician constructing, assembling, repairing and dismantling machinery and equipment.

Additional responsibilities:      

  • Learning to read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures

  • Dismantling machines, using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools

  • Moving machinery and equipment, using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks

  • Aligning machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs

  • Assembling machines, and bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fastening them to foundation or other structures, using hand tools and power tools

  • Repairing and lubricating machines and equipment

Additional requirements:

  • Eagerness and willingness to learn and receive instruction/direction from qualified Journeyman Millwright

  • Experience working with hand tools and power tools

  • Experience working with equipment such as boom lifts, scissor lifts, and forklifts is a plus

  • Strong working knowledge of job site safety as well as ability to complete a company specific safety orientation

  • High standard of integrity and professionalism
