Tradesmen hiring Journeyman Roofers to install/fix commercial and residential roofs in Thurmont, MD.

This is a great opportunity to work with other motivated, safety-minded, and quality craft-professionals. Journeyman Commercial Roofers will different types of roofing systems such as: TPO, PVC, EPDM rubber, built-ups, Bitumen, metal and dura-last roofing. This is a prevailing wage job paying $35.00 an hour. Not all Tradesmen assignments are prevailing wage; an ongoing hourly bill-rate will be determined during the hiring process which will apply to future assignments.


Primary responsibilities:

  • Apply alternate layers of hot asphalt, tar and roofing paper to roofs, according to specifications
  • Apply gravel or pebbles over top layers of roofs, using rakes or stiff-bristled brooms
  • Apply plastic coatings and membranes, fiberglass, or felt over sloped roofs before applying shingles
  • Cement or nail flashing-strips of metal or shingle over joints to make then watertight
  • Cover exposed nailheads with roofing cement or caulking to prevent water leakage and rust
  • Other duties as assigned


Specific responsibilities:

  • 5 years of roofing experience desired

  • Strong working knowledge of job site safety as well as ability to complete a company specific safety orientation

  • High standard of integrity and professionalism

  • Drug free at all times

  • Valid Driver's License/Reliable transportation
  • Attention to saftey/Use of PPE at all times
  • MUST BE OSHA-10 Certified
