Integration technician 

The Installation Technician is responsible for adding new technology equipment in commercial telecommunication sites. Performs all tasks associated with the installation, acceptance and maintenance of a variety of Telecommunication equipment. Responsibilities range from installation of equipment, and cross-connects, performing commissioning and integration tasks (we will provide training), and turn up of all critical infrastructure equipment. Project installation, testing and troubleshooting of Telecommunication infrastructure components including but not limited to Ladder rack, Fiber Guide, MDF, IDF, switches, routers and related cabling.

• Working knowledge of Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a and fiber optic media types, industry standards and applications, and use cases (e.g., Ethernet, Fiber Channel, SONET, TDM)
• Install cable runs, patch panels and cross connects. Performs cable lacing and labeling as per the Customer standards
• Significant hands-on experience with the installation of both copper and fiber media types.  Working knowledge with cable testing systems to ensure operational integrity
• Working knowledge of troubleshooting both copper and fiber cable media. (E.g. dB loss, Attenuation, Breaks, Termination Problems, Transmission Characteristics)
• Working knowledge of test equipment · Understanding of network layouts
• Working knowledge of pertinent ISO Standards associated with Data Center Cable Infrastructure re including ANSI-942, ANSI-568
• Interface with customer NOC for integration
• Responsible to lead the troubleshooting process and repairs in case of events or equipment failure providing recommendations to prevent re-occurrence of such events
• Maintain detailed site documentation following customer standards of reporting (includes but not limited to, photographs, inventory reporting, RMA process for returning customer decommissioned equipment, screen-shots showing equipment settings and performance, accessing databases to download scripts for upload into new equipment)
• Responsible for cleanliness of site and common areas
• Responsible for operating / maintaining company issued vehicle
• Responsible for following customer log in procedures for site access which includes:
• Verifying Work Order information prior to mobilization to site
• Check In / Check Out with customer and property owner
• Working with NOC to identify existing alarms prior to starting work (must document)
• Working with NOC to identify all alarms are cleared at work completion (must document)
• Available for after hours, on-call support and flexible shift scheduling

Qualifications & Experience

• BCSI Technician Credential Preferred
• Must have clean driving record, pass a background check, pass drug screen
• 2-3 years’ experience in similar critical facilities
• High School Diploma
• AMP ACT I & ACT II Certified a plus
• Electrical certifications a plus
• Needs to have functional knowledge of Inside Plant (ISP) disciplines; fiber optic and electrical cabling, alarming, labeling and lacing conforming to Telecom industry standards. Technical and mechanical background with experience on critical infrastructure found in Telecommunications facilities.
• Knowledge of MS Office and general computer skills
• Analytical troubleshooting
• Written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable working in a fast paced environment with flexibility to work after-hours and weekends when needed
• Travel to multiple site locations
